A descriptive term conveying that a person does not have symptoms of an illness or condition. For example, a person may be described as asymptomatic following recovery from an illness or condition when no longer experiencing or exhibiting any symptoms of the illness. A person may also be described as asymptomatic during the early stages of an illness or condition, such as during the early stages of hypertension (i.e., high blood pressure).
