Meaning not potent, or without power or vigor; the partial or complete inability to achieve or sustain a penile erection as a result of psychologic, vascular, or neurologic dysfunction. Penile impotence is distinct from orgasm dysfunction and does not mean sexual activity is not possible. Impotence is often used interchangeably with erectile dysfunction.
