Usually refers to an injury resulting from impact with a blunt object or surface (e.g., motor vehicle collision, fall from a roof, being struck with a baseball bat). Blunt force trauma may result in internal (e.g., internal bleeding from a ruptured organ) and/or external injuries (e.g., bruising, lacerations, abrasions).
