Two small, pea-sized glands beneath the prostate that secrete a clear, thick fluid into the urethra prior to ejaculation. The fluid is secreted through ducts opening in the urethra and is thought to neutralize traces of urine to create a more favorable environment for the sperm to pass through during the ejaculation process. Homologous to the female Bartholin’s glands.
