A descriptive term for the abnormal condition in which tissue readily or easily bleeds or tears when gently palpated or manipulated. Generally marked by erosion, erythema, and/or bleeding, it is a hallmark of inflammation. The term is often used in reference to the cervix or vaginal tissues.
